There are songs we all think about as Christmas nears. White Christmas, The Christmas song, Jingle Bells, and so many others. I listen to them all because I love Christmas music. At the same time I have favorites and often the artists who sing them. Still I have some favorites for you. See which ones you like.
O Holy Night by the Vienna Boys Choir
Santa Claus Is Coming To Town by either Bruce Springsteen or Michael Jackson
Merry Bloody XMas by The Irish Rovers
Feliz Navidad by Jose Feliciano
Yellin' At The Christmas Tree by Billy Idol
Santa Baby (both 1 and 2) by Eartha Kitt
Happy Christmas (War Is Over) by John Lennon
Blue Christmas by both Elvis and Porky Pig
Santa Claus Is Watching You by Ray Stevens
Snoopy's Christmas by the Royal Guardsmen
Mrs Fogarty's Christmas Cake by The Irish Rovers
The Night Santa Went Crazy by Weird Al Yankovic
There's Something Stuck Up In The Chimney by Bob Rivers
Santa's Comin' In A Whirlybird by Gene Autry
Bad Little Boy by Ray Stevens
That is enough I suppose. Each of these songs should be available on YouTube if you wish to hear them.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Great songs! Mostly.
ReplyDeleteAs you can see I like songs that are a bit weird.
DeleteAnonymous in your last post was me; don't know what happened with Blogger. If it does it again this time, "me" is rhymeswithplague.
ReplyDeleteQuite an eclectic list of Christmas music you have there! I had to laugh at both Elvis Presley and Porky Pig for "Blue Christmas"....
I particularly like Nat King Cole's "Christmas Song" and Karen Carpenter's "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas".
Both are good ones.
DeleteWhat an eclectic list! I need to find Merry Bloody Christmas.
ReplyDeleteIt is a good song. Look for Irish Rovers songs and I am sure you will find it. I did a quick search on YouTube and it was the first listing.
DeleteThanks!
DeleteYou are welcome.
DeleteI have a lot of favorites in this list, Emma, but not done by most of the artists you included. That said, no one does Santa Baby like Eartha Kitt.
ReplyDeleteOh do I ever agree with you. Her voice is unique.
DeletePBS ran a wonderful show last night about Jewish composers of Christmas carols. Then came a program about a family that has made Matzos for generations. I thoroughly enjoyed both.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're well, and I wish you and yours a lovely Christmas.
I wish you and your wife a wonderful Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
DeletePrecious friend Emma it is lovely post .no such festival can be perceived without music revealing it's beauty on deeper level :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing yours!
Hugs and blessings
Thank you. I know you had a wonderful visit with all 3 of your sons.
