Fourth Of July

Before you enjoy your barbecue and fireworks take some time to remember what we are celebrating. And remember all the men and women who have served to preserve the freedoms all through the years. We are grateful.

  1. I have considered them, often. And the first nation, and the people who came as slaves to build this country for us. I wish my grandchildren knew who they are and they are as important as videos

  4. I read the book 1776 last year. It's a remarkable book that provides a great deal of insight on the things our forefather had to endure to bring this country into reality.
Many people don't have a clue.

    1. I have read that book too. I like to read about the early days of our country and about the Civil War. I think if more people knew what it took for us to become the nation we are supposed to be we would move ahead more smoothly. What are the odds of those people coming together at that particular time in that particular place to make the foundation for a great country? There were so many errors on each side. The deprivations endured by the American armies are inconceivable today. I wonder if we would be willing to try today.

    1. I truly hope more people did than did not. It is too important.
