In Memoriam

In memory of all our service members who are no longer with us. Special love to my father and two brothers, one of whom was killed in Viet Nam.

  1. Thanks to your family members for their service. Pat's family lost a brother and uncle who died in WW II in Naval service.

    1. All people who serve and protect are owed our respect.

  3. I lost an uncle at Pearl Harbor. It was before I was born, but I never let a Memorial Day pass that I don't think of him.

    1. Only my two older boys knew my brother and they were so little that there are few or no memories. Yet all of the children know about my brother and honor his memory.

  4. My wife lost a cousin at Pearl Harbor. My dad survived a Navy stint in World War II. Memorial Day is a sacred time, not a day to go water-skiing at the lake. Thank you for this post.

    1. Memorial Day was extremely important to my father too. Every year we made sure the graves were cleaned and properly decorated. Reverence needs to have an example to continue.

    1. You forgot pride. When my brother died my father was so proud of him and so hurt. It was the only time I ever saw him cry.
